Warrant for arrest of Tarique Rahman's mother-in-law
A Dhaka court has issued warrant for arrest of Syeda Iqbal Mand Banu, mother-in-law of BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman.
Dhaka's metropolitan sessions judge Md Quamrul Hossain Molla issued the warrant on Wednesday following a case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Syeda Iqbal Mand Banu has been accused of not submitting wealth statement to the commission, according to the case.
The court has taken into cognizance the charge-sheet placed by the ACC in this regard and issued the warrant, the ACC lawyer, Mir Ahmed Ali, told Prothom Alo.
The ACC filed a case with Ramna police station, implicating Syeda Iqbal Mand Banu on 30 January 2014.
The case was filed after, said the ACC statement, she failed to submit the wealth statement.
The ACC submitted the charge-sheet on 19 January 2016.
